Voice of LOVE

A good listener always has an edge over others by Sanna Gosava.
It was real alarm to me.

A wise old owl lived in an oak,

The more he saw the less he spoke,

The less he spoke the more he heard,

WHy can't we all be like that wise old bird?

When this rhyme of nursery class was read by me, I stopped smiling for rest of the day. He words kept echoing my mind and it kept revealing different messages to me different aspects of life.

It was a realization that how much we talk in a day. And out of all that how much of it does actually make any sense or meet any purpose? We talk in the morning, evening, with a friend in phone, in nght, in flight with stranger and even we talk when we are alone, eeeshhh even in yoga class, guy next to treadmill, while cooking n eating also while we sleep. We don't even give up talking when we are in spiritual retreat, even in prayer.....imagine the amount of energy that we expend in all this talking. And how much of it does actually make any sense or meet any purpose?

There is a strong urge in us to talk out everything regardless of whether anybody is even interested in our talk. It's like the world must know what's going on within me. Whether it is teaching, learnng, building relationships, or selling- a good listener will always have an edge over others. A good listener will not only listen to the words, but he will also listen and understand the emotions behind those words. He will not only listen to what is being spoken, but he will also catch the unspoken messages, and that's COMPLETE LISTENING.

Have any of you noticed that we always feel closer to a person who listens completely to us?

"In Prayer, we speak to Him (deep inner self) but in silence, He (actual spirit, who has no attachment) speaks to us." Are we listening? Thats the only way to feel closer to man as well as to HIM (the great self of Yours).

Yes, silence seems Scary in the beginning. For many of us, if we remain silent for some time, we readily jump to a conclusion that either he is an introvert or he has an inferiority complex, or he he is depressed, he is disturbed, or something is WRONG with him.
The Question is Are we Listening?????? Are you?
